Women of ALPFA

Why Women of ALPFA?

Women of ALPFA recognizes that Latinas have two sure things going for them: they are women, and they are Hispanic. Sometimes, unfortunately, this is a double-edged sword, and gender and ethnicity get in the way of an individual being recognized for who she is and of what she is capable.

Women of ALPFA (WOA) is a platform for Latinas to be recognized for who they are and for what they do, helping them jump to higher grounds, be it into a first job or into a board room. WOA supports professional Latinas by being true to its mission of providing career development opportunities, further education and a solid network of other professionals that encourage, challenge and inspire them. WOA is an opportunity in itself, allowing members to participate in the exciting process of helping Latinas reach excellence and of reaching that excellence oneself.

WOA also seeks to help professional Latinas successfully incorporate themselves in the workforce while maintaining pride of who they are, which is a direct result of from where they come. One of the most important qualities attributed to working Latinas is heritage. Studies of American businesses have shown that this heritage results in executive Latinas displaying an impressive work ethic, aptitude for collaboration, cultural fluency and community outreach.

WOA is not only for Latinas. It is for anyone who recognizes the value of Latinas in the American workforce and wants to help them continue to add value to corporations and to the economy through their businesses as well as through their purchasing power.

The Vision

To inspire and develop Latina business leaders to break barriers, achive life and career aspirations and celebrate the unique Latin culture.

The Mission

To develop Latina business leaders by providing best-in-class educational programs and creating opportunities for them to demonstrate leadership, expand their professional networks and to influence others.
